PADI Whale Defender Course
Whales are among the most incredible animals on earth, yet little is known about them. Written by Dive Ninja’s very own Jay Clue and marine scientists Mario Escalari & Maru Marcias, the PADI Whale Defender Distinctive Specialty Course provides a great introduction. You will learn about the history of whales from the earliest known examples of their existence to the present day, and discover how scientists and local communities have attempted to understand them. The course also looks the importance of whale conservation and the threats whales face, mankind’s relationship to them, and how you can protect these magnificent creatures for the future.
The course is open to all ages, divers and non-divers. For divers, it counts towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating and is the great way to make the most out of your time in Cabo!

From Our Students
I recently completed the PADI – Whale Defender Distinctive Specialty Course: Whale Conservation and learned a lot of very interesting and valuable information. The course was run by Jay and he was very knowledgeable and passionate about the topics covered. We covered a broad range of topics including whale biology and evolution, current threats faced by whales globally, what is currently being done by various non-governmental organisations and simple things we can do to become whale defenders. I highly recommend the course and can’t wait to do another one with Dive Ninja!
“I had the opportunity to spend over three hours learning about whales! Jay did a fantastic job touching on biology, evolution, history, conservation threats, opportunities to help, etc…my expectations were blown away for the course and I didn’t realize how interactive the course would be, it makes me even more excited about marine life and also reflect on how I can get involved with conservation work. I would highly recommend this course!”
