Humpback Whale Watching
Humpback whales are the star attraction of Los Cabos in the winter and you’re likely to see them migrating during your visit. Hundreds of these incredible mammals travel every year to enjoy the warm, calm water. Many of these whales are pregnant females and use the area as breeding grounds, passing on traditions to curious calves from tail lobbing, fin slaps and breeching. Meanwhile, male humpbacks can be spotted trailing along, serenading a few females with their whale song and dance for a chance to mate. These waters are also home to a third of the world’s marine mammals so there is no shortage of wildlife to see during a tour. From blue whales, fin whales, orcas and massive pods of dolphins, you’ll never know what the ocean has to offer!

Our Sustainable Ecotours
Whale watching has become an incredible industry not only for raising awareness of whales, but also for helping communities thrive economically in a sustainable way. From comfortable and spacious boats, to knowledgeable captains and passionate guides, we’ve carefully thought about every detail of our whale watching tours so that you can have the best experience on the water while making an impact.
People protect what they love. As part of our Whale Defender program, we bring in experienced Ninja whale naturalist guides in every whale watching tour to teach you all about the region above and below the sea. The more you know about these whales, the more fascinating they become, and we hope you will be as motivated as we are to protect them. By booking a tour with us, you will be contributing to a bigger cause and supporting our efforts to enforce regulations, collect research, report data, and ultimately protect the whales for future generations to come.
Our Whale Defender Program
Whales are culturally and ecologically important to both our history and our future. The Whale Defender program started in Cabo as a way to give back to these significant creatures, acknowledging their presence in providing daily experiences for us and our guests. Collaborating with some of Mexico’s most renowned marine mammal research and conservation centers, we developed a unique initiative for whale watching and conservation. The program combines whale watching excursions with collecting valuable data for researchers and working to monitor local marine protected areas and whale populations. In addition, 100% of the money generated from the tours was donated to help protect the whales of Los Cabos and the UNESCO-listed marine area of Cabo San Lucas. Now the Whale Defender has grown into an approved PADI course that can be taken by anyone to learn about these magical creatures. It can also be combined with a Whale Watching tour to receive a $35 discount on the total! Contact us for more info.
From the original citizen-science program, the PADI Whale Defender course was created. It expands on the concept of turning whale lovers into knowledgeable and passionate whale defenders inspired to help protect and raise awareness for the whales along the coastline of Baja California. It covers the history, importance, threats and conservation management of all whales on a global scale, as well as how to get involved in helping whales around the world.
